A winter almost as it used to be…
The snow-covered winter landscapes, the almost meditative tranquillity of dormant nature, the lovely fragrance of Christmas baking and mulled wine wafting through the alleys, the cosily warm parlours in the rustic huts, while the skiers race rapidly down the slopes outside, the tradition-conscious time, which has entered the land – that’s the atmospheric winter in South Tyrol.
A diverse action programme now begins in the Dolomites and in Europe’s largest ski carousel for sport enthusiasts, the Dolomiti Super Ski and the well-known Sellaronda. Whether skiing, snowshoe hiking, ski touring, cross-country skiing, winter hiking, freeriding, ice climbing or tobogganing, our guests find the right recreational programme for them straight in front of our front door. One winter is barely enough to cope with all the variety on offer.
However, the probably most festive time of the year has also arrived in our villages and cities. The lovingly decorated and atmospherically illuminated alleys of Castelrotto/Kastelruth or the surrounding cities of Bolzano/Bozen and Bressanone/Brixen will really put you in the festive Christmas spirit. Then, when strolling through the traditional Christkindl markets, you’ll find original South Tyrolean craftsmanship as a souvenir or memento of your stay here.
At the Triefer Hof winter time is also associated with many customs and traditions.
